Peter H. Liotta (1955-2012)

With deep sadness and shock we have noticed the sudden and tragic death of our co-editor and colleague Peter H. Liotta. Peter Liotta was a coeditor of two volumes in the Hexagon Series on Human, Environmental Security and Peace:

He also contributed as a language editor of a third volume on: Euro-Mediterranean Partnership for the Twenty-First Century co-edited by Hans Günter Brauch, Antonio Marquina, Abdelwahab Biad and published by Macmillan Publishers in June 2000.

Peter H. Liotta contributed a grant from the US Naval War College Foundation to make the publication of the first volume of the Hexagon Book Series possible and he presented two poems at AFES-PRESS workshops in September 2004 in The Hague and in August 2005 in Istanbul.

Liotta in discussion with colleagues from Israel and Palestine at the fourth AFES-PRESS Workshop on Reconceptualising Security: "Security Threats, Challenges, Vulnerabi-lities and Risks" at the First World International Studies Conference (WISC) at Bilgi University, Istanbul, Turkey, 27 August 2005 in the roundtable “From Conflict to Environmental Peacemaking in the Middle East”.

From 2001 to 2006 Peter H. Liotta was a member of the AFES-PRESS International Scientific Advisory Council.

His contribution to our joint international scientific cooperation and global dialogue project and his personality will be truly remembered by his colleagues and friends around the world.
