This report
is based on a diploma thesis that was submitted in January
1993 at the department of Social Sciences at J.W. Goethe University
in Frankfurt on Main. In part I the author develops his working
hypotheses and research topic, questions and his approach.
In part II the development of the preferred model of the SFIO
focusing on Western Europe is examined, and in part II the
use of the concept of Europeanisation is reviewed for the
period from 1958 until 1989. Part IV analyses the concepts
of Europeanisation of the Parti Socialiste in the context
of German unification and of the Gulf war. After a detailed
assessment, the report ends with a 10-page bibliography and
a biography of the author.
